UDC book donation

SHARING STORIES WITH STUDENTS: Students Anna Kate Carter, Molly Roundtree and Belle Carter are excited about having these new books in their school library, along with the Georgia flags.

THOMASVILLE- Georgia Day is recognized every year on February 12. John B. Gordon 383 UDC presented the library at Cook Community Christian School with two books : Tripp’s Ventures: GEORGIA, Fueling the Passion to Travel written by Michael Perry and Meitra Lak Perry, ED.S. and Deep in the Swamp written by Donna M. Bateman. Several “Georgia Day” booklets published by the Georgia Division UDC were given.

The booklets contain factual information about the state of Georgia. The booklets are reproducible. Also, the official Georgia flag with a flyer attached with Georgia facts was given to the school library. One of the Objectives of the UDC is “Patriotism.” Sheila Tucker, Historian of John B. Gordon 383 presented the school with the Georgia items on behalf of the chapter. President Mary Margaret Quiggle designed the flyer attached to the Georgia flag.
